I'm horrible with book clubs and reading commitments, but quitee excited to see the books you folks pick up and follow them from the sideline!

Hey thank you for even thinking of this idea ...I think meeting once a while and then keeping it online on WhatsApp would be fine that will help better connectivity and accountability.

To start with one book a month is a great idea.

The topics you said economics, psychology biographies finance, etc are all interconnected so I guess a mix of all is interesting. We can also include topics like history, geopolitics and current affairs. Also we can decide on a fixed timings which will help consistency and build this habit of reading.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to start by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to the team at Zerodha.

Let's embark on a journey to explore the world of finance, and gradually expand our scope to include economics and other related topics. Our goal is to read and discuss one book every 45 days, taking into account six weekends to complete each book.

To facilitate our discussions, I suggest we create a WhatsApp group (I'm not a big fan of Telegram). Initially, online meetups will be helpful, and as we progress, we can establish regional chapters, such as Chennai, Bangalore, and others.

Looking forward to this exciting journey of learning and growth.

Regards

Abhishek

I am an avid reader but have always been scared to venture topics like finance, economics, biographies etc. (whilst at the same time wanting to read them sometime). This book club could help a lot of people get the fear out and explore such topics!

Whatsapp is a simple way to build the community but once a month offline meet ups would be really fun!

Hello everyone,

I would prefer one book a month followed by whatsapp group discussions. Also let's not stick to just finance and delve into other books too as I'm avid reader but in fiction genre. Personally, I feel fiction teaches us more than those bulky and boring non fiction books. But as I'm planning to pursue career in finance sector I really want to up my knowledge game. Additionally, if you guys could arrange guest lectures (but please make it interesting), it would be icing on the cake. Thank you in advance!

Finance, psychology, investing, business world are some of the topics I would be interested in. Small discussions via posts can be a good hook and make people read followed by monthly catchup.

All four points direct towards some interesting ideas. Especially the ones about having economics, philosophy themes along with finance - plus the meetups and expert talks. Usually heavy reads are in their own corners.

This is a brilliant idea, and I would love to be part of it. The choice of topics as mentioned are overlapping in many ways which would help in ' connecting the dots '. I would prefer online as I am not based in India but listen to your podcast and read your articles almost everyday , looking forward to it . Keep up the good work guys ! Love it !
