Being an analog watch lover myself, this gave me a really good insight on the smart wearable devices, as I used to critisise always as to what's the point of knowing what ur heart rate is and how many steps you take, if it doest help you change ur routine, but getting to know there are brands out there that actually do something, but no matter how smart the wrist devices get, there's no point if the individual doesn't take any action with the data presented to him or her.
Loved the 2nd part (unglamorous reforms). I wish you wouldn't club unrelated deep dives into a singe post. It is hard to locate later because the title is only relevant to the first part.

I thought the same thing but it does help in optimising a few things :)

I have a whoop myself
While I sometimes feel like it's am overkill
If i use the data I have seen great improvements in my daily life
Why an overkill?
