Sir,

I closely follow your content across this channel and your other platforms to make the most of the valuable insights you and your team share.

I have a small suggestion regarding this newsletter. Instead of publishing industry comparisons as soon as all the companies in a particular industry announce their results, you could consider waiting until the entire Q1 FY27 earnings season is over. During that time, your team can prepare comprehensive comparisons and then publish them over the last week of August (or the following week if needed). The same approach can be followed every quarter and for annual results as well.

Since you publish five newsletters a week with two topics in each, you could cover around ten industries. This would not only provide a better industry-wise comparison but also offer readers a broader view of the overall market and what the quarter's results indicate.

I believe this approach would make the analysis more comprehensive and valuable for all readers.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion!

Just curious, what's the thinking behind it?

Our intention is to cover results as they come in, so readers get the analysis in real time. Are you suggesting that it's worth waiting until the earnings season is over because the comparisons would be more comprehensive and the analysis deeper? Is that where you're coming from?

There isn't any particular thinking behind it. It's just that this way I can go back and compare things from here instead of going through each company's concall and tracing what they said they wanted to achieve by the next quarter and beyond.

Now, about whether the waiting time for the analysis is worth it—I'd say no, it isn't (sorry🥲). So instead, I was thinking it could be done the way you already do it, but with one addition: a full-page summary once the results season ends.

If this sounds good, (#1) instead of having two stories on that day, you could have a single story on Fridays only (so I get time over the weekend to dive deeper into the topics that personally interest me), dedicated entirely to a quarter-end wrap-up. It could be organised industry-wise, with a summary of what happened across each industry during that quarter.

The idea is to understand what happened to the industry as a whole. For example, one common theme across almost every company's concall last quarter was the impact of the war. Before that, it was GST rate reductions. Now, I'm assuming the next common discussion will be about the after-effects of the war.

I think this would be great—unless I'm missing some secondary perspective here.

So, it would be one story at the end of every quarterly results season—that's four stories a year. Also, (#2) it would be great if making a single piece like this instead of splitting them into two or more parts because, by the time I read Part 2, I've usually forgotten what was in Part 1.

To answer your question about where this idea comes from, I think it could simply be an interesting version of what's currently in The Chatter (I read only the first few pieces, and even those only halfway😶).

Also, apart from this, I've been preparing for the CAT since last year, and I was told to build a reading habit. That's when I came across your newsletter, and since then I've been reading almost everything you've created. Even if I don't like a particular topic, I still read it very sincerely because I've noticed that it has changed the way I think.

By reading your newsletters, I've gained a new perspective. Now I observe more than I react. Even while I'm on the road, I find myself thinking about the companies behind advertisements—who owns them, whether they're listed (if yes, what's their LTP, what's their ticker, etc.), and what impact they might have. I've even forced my friends to start reading your newsletters.

Right now, my weekly reading from your universe looks something like this:

- 5 editions of The Daily Brief

- 5 editions of Aftermarket Reports

- In the Money (not every edition—only the ones that interest me, like the recent series on swing trading)

- Mind Over Market (every edition since I started reading it)

- Points & Figures (all six so far)

- The Chatter (none of it, to be honest. I tried reading a few, but it's just not my type😅)

- Subtext (only the weekly "What We're Reading" section, which you recently changed the format of! 🫣)

- And all of Nithin Sir's posts whenever he publishes one.

Also, I really want to meet you and your team someday. I live in Lucknow, so it isn't possible for me right now and in the near future, but one day I definitely will.

And sorry that this message turned out to be so long. Whenever I write about something I genuinely care about, all my thoughts and emotions just come out at once.

So, sorry again... and thank you if you've made it this far. 🫡
