Geek out with us?

Hello, dear readers and listeners. We had an idea we wanted to run by you.

We are nearing almost 150 episodes on The Daily Brief, and frankly, we ourselves are shocked at making it this far without missing a single trading day. That’s apart from all our other experiments on the Zerodha Markets channel.

We’ve somehow done this with a team of barely 5-6 people. In fact, it’s usually less than that. On most days, just 2-3 of us research, write and shoot the entire thing. I won’t say things get done like clockwork just yet, but we’re getting better at it by the day.

Here’s what keeps us going: The Daily Brief forces us to constantly expand and update what we know. None of us are ‘experts’ on the things we talk about. But the show (and newsletter) constantly sends us down weird and fascinating rabbit holes, and by the end of each day, we’re usually a little less dumb than when we started. That’s precisely why this is so fulfilling — we get to learn new things and share them with the world.

After all, we learn from others. It's only fair that we share what we learn with others.

We think that’s true of you as well.

The one thing we've noticed in reading all the comments — yes, we read all comments — is that many of you are super-knowledgeable about the things we’re talking about. And that’s when less than 0.5% of you actually comment. It goes without saying — there are probably a lot more extremely knowledgeable people out there who don't have the time to comment.

This got us thinking: why don’t we learn from you? After all, much like us, you’re only here because you love learning about the world. There are probably tons of weird, fascinating things you’ve spent a long time learning about. From the comments, we know for a fact that you people can geek out on everything from how to run a small kirana shop to how the entire pharmaceutical industry works. And together, you know much, much more than our tiny team here.

So here’s our idea: in a new show, we’d love to talk to you, pick your brains on your favorite rabbit holes, and share it with others! That’s basically what we do on this channel ourselves, and we’d love for you to join us. The world would be a better place if more people shared the things they geeked out about. :)
